Our Philosophy

Our centres endeavour to provide an environment where our early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki provides the foundations to a holistic approach to tamariki and their learning. A place where whānau feel welcome and where their tamariki are immersed in a safe and secure environment, full of the love, care and respect they experience at home.

Whānau relationships are highly regarded; we appreciate the importance of these partnerships in providing tamariki with an opportunity to flourish in their capabilities as competent learners.

We offer an environment where play is the most valued pathway for learning, where all seasons play is crucial to ngā tamariki ability to revisit learning and create an affinity with Papatūānuku without being hindered by the weather.

We value ngā tamariki development of transferable learning dispositions, they are celebrated as foundational steps for current and future learning. Within our centres we view ngā tamariki diversity with admiration and celebrate the differences in culture and identity that make each individual te tamaiti who they are. Our inclusive environments create a community culture that ensures all tamariki can be actively engaged in meaningful play and learning with and alongside their peers. This includes seeking additional support for a variety of needs and removing barriers when required.

We value the history of Aotearoa and strive to protect the taonga that is te reo and te ao Māori, weaving this into our daily practice as kaiako to share our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Our kaiako are committed to their own ongoing learning and professional development. By continually developing their skills they are better equipped to support tamariki in reaching their full potential.

We also recognise the positive implications that connections to our wider community offer our tamariki; we therefore aim to facilitate reciprocal relationships between our centres and with our surrounding community. Through strength in philosophy we are able to provide a consistent approach where tamariki are able to flourish within our centres.
